Three students were invited to participate in Hollywood Arts first Fashion Initiative Project. The goal- for each student to design 1 dress on paper and bring it to life. After weekly 1 hour meetings and many endless late nights of sewing at the center, the dresses were done and ready for their Photoshoot. Models, a makeup artist, hair stylist and Photographer, Joshua Spencer, donated a full day to bring the students designs to life. Enjoy the photos!
This project was created through the collaboration of three very different and talented fashion students. Each student was selected based on their exceptional performance in the fashion studies at Hollywood Arts.
This photo shoot was fully executed through the vision and direction of the group. Over the course of several weeks, these students came together through weekly meetings and web discussions until a theme and mood was decided- A clean, pure, regal collection accented with lush, rich earthly textures, and golden flora detailing. This project was a vision of light.
With every group project comes disagreements, hard work and frustration. However, there is also a sense of accomplishment, ample amount of laughter and a mutual bond over the love of fashion and design.
Each dress reflects the designer's individuality. Each dress unites as a collection.
Big thanks to Photographer Joshua Spencer. Please check out his website, Remnants of LA, where he has posted more photos of the Hollywood Arts' students' designs in addition to his other work! |
